This blog still lives, as does the band behind it. There is a small intermission between events. We are all busy and a new album awaits its birth. 2010 will reveal more. I will be attached to the Marduk US tour as a crew member, effective November 21. Come say hello if you care to.

Central American dates postponed/Las fechas Centroamericanas retrasaron

Due to scheduling issues on behalf of the band, Averse Sefira must postpone their performances in Central America. We hope our supporters in the region will not be too disappointed. We appreciate the efforts of the promoters of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador in working with us, and we are sorry that we could not honor the original dates as planned. Averse Sefira will endeavor to come to return to the region in early 2010!

ATTENTION: To all weekenders, hipsters, novelty seekers, scenesters, and assorted parasites of the underground – we, the purveyors and fans of metal pre-1990 are taking back our music from you scum. It was never yours, you don't understand it, and we don't need your permission, approval, or support to continue. You idiots have done nothing but bastardize and trivialize it for almost a decade and we are sick of it. You allowed nu-metal and metalcore to happen. You allowed a cartoon band to release the “biggest selling death metal album of all time”. You take from us and offer nothing in return other than complaining and self-impressed criticism. The veterans are coming back in droves, and their music is not for you. Everything you think you know is once again irrelevant. You are irrelevant. Prepare to be marginalized like the non-people you are. Find a different genre to exercise your neuroses. There is no place for you at this table any longer. Fuck you. We're taking it back.

"Absu announced their upcoming US tour prior to Christmas and are now preparing for the nationwide trek. The tour, set to kick off June 6th in San Marcos, California and wrap up June 29th in the band’s hometown of Dallas, Texas was originally noted to feature support from labelmates GLORIOR BELLI, AVERSE SEFIRA and SOTHIS. The lineup has had a recent change with Philadelphia-based RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER replacing Averse Sefira. Guitarist Matt Moore comments,"Rumplestiltskin Grinder is excited to steal all hope from the holy along with Absu, Glorior Belli and Sothis as part of the ultimate black-thrash campaign for North American annihilation."

This information is indeed correct. The reasons behind it are tedious and unimportant and do not change the outcome, but rest assured the band did everything it could to avoid this. Averse Sefira extends its gratitude to Sothis, Glorior Belli, and particularly ABSU for their support in this disappointing development. Averse Sefira will still appear in Houston and Austin dates with Sothis at the end of June. In the meantime, support this tour and the bands in their trek across North America!
